Why graphic novels are more than picture perfect I’m working on a new project. … that I should have taken more notice of - as it was so spot on. I’ve been looking through some old notes, concerning my work/ideas and specifically about analysing which areas I wanted to explore. There’s some very wise advice. Japanese bookstores are preparing for what they expect to be the publishing phenomenon of the year: Das Kapital – the manga version. Good article in today’s Guardian listing this guy’s top 10 graphic novels. Some great ones listed, quite a few I didn’t know about (though should have done). Over the past few months I’ve had lots of ideas for short stories, but never get enough chunk time to take them further. So they end up lost in my notebook. I’m also pulled away from a traditional format all the time, as I always want to add interactive and collborative aspects, and this confuses [...] I like the idea of explaining things through comics or graphic novels. Call them info-comics or docu-comics maybe, suited to explaining complexed or dry subjects in an accessible way.
