Title: "Bailouts, bonuses and austerity"
Link to the project
Background:
These drawings came from the interactive web project I completed in October 2009, dealing with the subject of
bank bailouts and bonuses. I've picked out the best ones, developed them further, and added new drawings. The scandals and crises just keep on going, so there's a wealth of inspiration out there. Here I have put together a set of the best 20, and each drawing can exist in isolation or as part of the set. Each drawing is like a page from a book that hasn't been written, the theme groups them together.
My aim through this project was to explain the subject of bankers bonuses and bailouts to the general public - in a fun, informative accessible way. This is a complicated subject, most people are confused by it, we are mostly fed superficial information by official media channels, leaving us feeling helpless. But we should be really angry, if only for the sake of our children. If people understood this matter more clearly, they would be more likely to do something about it. That's what I believe anyway, and is one of the motivations behind my drawings.

UPDATE
I have now compiled the best of these works (I believe) into their
own page, along with fuller explanations of each work. Many of these have been exhibited as part of the South Norwood Arts festival (june/ July 2010) - shown in local shops and a working mens club.
